Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids: A Blog Tour With Quilter's Candy

When my friend Elizabeth of Quilter's Candy asked me to join in on a blog tour featuring Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids, I jumped at the chance! I love everything Elizabeth does and I also adore working with Art Gallery, so it really was a no brainer. Also, I loved getting to be part of a blog tour again. My very first blog post was actually also a blog tour using Art Gallery Fabrics, which is so special.

For this blog tour, I made one of Elizabeth's new mini patterns, Over the Rainbow. If you've been following me on Instagram, then you know my daughter is rainbow OBSESSED. I've recently caught her rainbow fever and am crushing hard on them as well. I cannot get enough!

I chose the following Pure Solids for this project: Snow, Spruce, Forest Night, Aurus, and Vanilla Custard. Pictured below are the fabrics I chose, minus Snow. Snow (a really beautiful white) is what I used as the background of the mini and can be see in the finished photos of my project.

Seriously...these fabrics are SWOON WORTHY

Since this is a rainbow mini, sewing curves are involved. But Elizabeth's pattern and instructions were so clear and easy to follow that it was easy peasy. Plus, I actually LOVE sewing curves!

Beautiful Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids all ready to be curve-a-fied (I think that should be a word.)

I chose to use wool batting and a dense grid quilting pattern for a high-loft look. It reminds me of a puffy vest! I am obsessed. If you guys haven't tried wool batting yet, I highly recommend it. (Especially combined with hand quilting!)

I'm going to have to do this quilting pattern more often!

I could not decide on a binding color, so I used them all, ha! I love how it turned out. Note to self: do scrappy binding more often.

Scrappy binding for the wiiiiiin!

Could this Over the Rainbow mini quilt BE any cuter?! I love this pattern Elizabeth created so much, and the Art Gallery Pure Solids make it really POP! I've used this word a few times in this blog post already, but forgive me: I am obsessed. Love it. Yep. It's amazing.

Thank you so much for hanging out with me for a bit; I hope to see you again soon! And please, check out the links below to see all of the outstanding work from all of the amazing makers participating in this blog tour!

Super fun! The Palette is amazeballs! I adore citrusy green yellows! Quick question - where do you get this pattern on Elizabeth’s site? I can’t seem to locate it.

      Hey Melissa,

Her rainbow pattern has not been released quite yet--but it should be on her site soon!

Hey there!

Rachel from Wren Collective

Welcome to Wren Collective. I’m so excited that you decided to stop by! I am a modern quilter based in Omaha, Nebraska. Besides quilting, I enjoy family movie nights, reading mystery novels, and waking up early to a quiet house. In my spare time, you can usually find me microwaving coffee from earlier in the morning and lint rolling thread off of my pants.
