Rainbow Falls can be found in the Wren Collective pattern shop.
It's here! It's here! Rainbow Falls quilt is finally here! When I made up this pattern a couple of months ago, I had no idea people would be so interested in making a version for themselves. So with a lot of encouragement from friends, I tackled writing this beast.
Rainbow Falls quilt comes in the following sizes: Wall/Large Pillow, Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King. So, truly, there is something for everyone in this pattern.
The pattern includes direct hyperlinks to helpful blog posts, including how I like to sew curves, how to add a zipper closure to a quilted pillow, and how to match up prints along your quilt backing seam.
Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I may earn a commission if you choose to click through and make a purchase.
Rainbow Falls : The Original
The original Rainbow Falls popped into my head one day as I was unpacking boxes from our move. Nothing like mundane housework to get the creative juices flowing! When I saw this bundle from Cottoneer, I knew it had to be used for this pattern.
This cheerful quilt is still waiting to be basted and quilted, but that will hopefully get done soon. I'm going to be using my favorite combination of wool batting + hand quilting on this one for an extra luxe finish.
Rainbow Falls: PB+J
This baby sized version of Rainbow Falls gives me all the peanut butter and raspberry jam vibes. Basically, I was hungry the entire time I worked on this quilt.
The PB+J Rainbow Falls quilt is now a wall hanging above my niece's crib, so I will have to get a full finished photo of it next time I go visit her. In the mean time, here are a couple of "in progress" photos.
Retro Rainbow
This version of Rainbow Falls is my favorite one I've made to date; it gives me all of the retro vibes. Who else had Rainbow Brite sheets growing up?! This version uses 13 Kona Cotton colors. Cottoneer has kitted a version for this quilt, which can be found HERE.

Hello. I love your beautiful lively quilt rainbows. I am making 2. For twins My great grandchildren, I plan to keep the borders off white as per background. But would like to cut the the binding bias in one of the mid colours,, how much material would I. Need for the binding. Sincerely. Patricia Bowers
WrenCollectiveQuilts says
Hi Patricia!
According to the quilting app I use, it says 1/2 yard for bias binding on the throw size. I hope this is helpful!
